I adore this sweet couple and I love how sweetly their engagement unfolded. For two people who had butterflies in their belly prior to the shoot, they were naturals in front of the camera even if they didn’t feel like they were. There were so many beautiful moments shared between these two – some silly, some tender and all real. I want your engagement shoot to be like a date… where you get dressed up, take time to really embrace the love you share and even flirt a little.  Faith & Josh did just that and I think it shows in their photos.  There is an easiness about them & a trueness that is drawing me in just a little bit more. Love is such a gift and to share it with others is nothing short of inspiring. To say I am excited to photograph their wedding next summer is putting it lightly. Love is beautiful.

Sometime we forget to realize that love stories are not always days full of bliss and magic.  There are days that can be tough and challenging that can sometimes shake and shudder the love you share.  I would like to think the storms we bear make what you have truly stronger and more meaningful. Jody and Johnathan can attest to this specifically. I would love for you to take a peek at their beautiful engagement session and at the end of this blog they share a written glimpse of their love story -thorns, roses & all.

Johnathan and I were engaged for 5 years before we got married. The journey that got us to that day was not always easy and fun. Just when we were ready to begin planning our wedding, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was during that time, we were truly able to see how much two people can face together. Despite the painful reality of our situation, we were still able to laugh, love and look forward to our future. They say that the couples that are “meant to be” are the ones who go through everything that is meant to tear them apart and come out even stronger than they were before. That is exactly what we did and that is why our wedding day was a celebration for what we accomplished together. Getting married started a new chapter in our lives and though we know our lives can sometimes get messy- we can always count on one another to get through the storm.

Another beautiful wedding here and & gone but not without the most beautiful memories. I often have this weird feeling after my galleries are delivered, like I am not ready to let go of the relationships built with my amazing clients. From coffees, to engagement sessions, phone calls, emails, spending the most  celebratory day of their lives with them and then spending many late nights staring at their smiles while editing.  I am so lucky have worked with such kind and open hearted couples like Holly & Marcel who inspire me with their love, allow me to soar creatively and in this case – paint their sunporch white for getting ready photos! I seriously couldn’t have been happier when I saw this bright white space. I do however have a photo of me sweeping the pet hair up first, which Marcel begged me not to tell Holly. No worries Marcel it’s our secret ( LOL) !

I hope you both enjoy they photos for a life time together over and over again. A little piece of all my couples will always be with me & again it was such a pleasure  working together with you both.

In just a few short weeks I will be photographing my last wedding of 2017- and it will be this lovely couples. What a whirlwind of excitement this season has been from many late nights, extra large coffees, incredible love stories, beautiful scenery, touching moments and a few applications of Icy Hot for my old back. (I really need to look into a better strap for my camera). I have been one busy bee and I am so absolutely grateful for everything this season has shared with me.

Here I am, still learning, still loving every single second of it and aiming higher. I am so happy to say my passion is only getting stronger for photography which is more then just a job or career, but actually a big part of who I am. Sometimes I don’t even know how I ended up here …but I am so thankful. This journey is just that… it is more then just learning techniques and business but a lot about self growth.  So cheers to this incredible wedding season and to all of you who have helped me grow on this journey.

Erin & Evan I am so excited to photograph your intimate wedding so soon. The love and chemistry you share was so exciting to capture and I can’t wait to do it all again

xoxo

It is so neat to not only connect with the beautiful people of Cape Breton but also I am so lucky to meet couples from all over. Suzanne and Andrew are originally from New Zealand and have lived and travelled all over the world. However Andrew has a deep routed connection to this lovely little island. He wanted to share the beauty we have here with his fiancé Suzanne who loves Cape Breton so much that they decided to wed here. The place where Andrew has visited since he was rather small. When I say that Cape Breton is a place for destination weddings I truly mean it. It has everything & more to host beautiful events & weddings.

It is so neat to think that although they live across the ocean, probably many oceans ( I am not that great with geography ) that this is Andrew’s home, a piece of his heart and now a piece of Suzanne’s. This engagement session was so fun. We basically stumbled across this pasture and little did I know that Suzanne actually grew up on a farm. The light was enchanting and they way they felt so at home was quite beautiful. I feel like I have known them for a much longer time and I am truly honored they reached out to me to be the one to capture their love story.  Here is a peek at that story and I am sure you will be seeing their incredible wedding on my blog in the near future.
